good coffee, good friends and good kids books

On thursday Bec, Roz and I all caught up for Coffee at Kirramisu in Kirra. Its such a cute little cafe with Mega coffee cup and a play pen.  I know....i've probably said all this before , but i love it! And i had Kody with me , so he loved being able to play, and i loved being able to relax! Kody grabbed my camera at one point and decided to photograph us all.....

and of course, the mischief maker himself....

Afterwards we made our usual stops into our little people and Lush.....lots of yummy dresses! I love our catch-ups....it's like replenishment for my soul :)

Anyway, over the years i have told many people of these kids books i love by Babette Cole. Theres 2 in particular, although i think they are all good. "mummy laid an egg" is about how babies are made and all that stuff....and it's sooooo well done. It covers EVERYTHING, but in such a cute way....even how Mummys and Daddys "fit together"

(please excuse the bad scans....i am too lazy to re-do them)

And then theres "Hair in Funny PLaces" about puberty and the changes in your body when you grow up.

Truly fantastic books. The kind that even you can get a good laugh out of ;) So if you have young kids, i definitely recommend them.

Thats it for me. I have a head-ache that started yesterday and still wont go away (any advice on how to get rid of it is most welcome!) And i am supposed to be catching up with my gorgeous friend Fads....who is leaving me (noooooooooooooooo!) to move back to Sydney :(

tea, anyone?

Last friday i took Bec up to High Societea in Brissie for her Bday. I haven't had a chance to post the pics until now. It's the second time i've been here (Becs first) and i just love it. I have this obsession with all things miniature, always have. Loved doll houses when i was a kid...all that small funiture and stuff. So i always get excited when i find somewhere that does food in miniature sizes.

It's kinda what i pictured a lunch with the fairies and pixies would look like, when i was a kid. And don't be fooled. It is seriously filling stuff! I was so full when we left. We had this yummy tea....can't remember what it was, but Bec bought some to take home.

I have to admit, i am not big on sweets , so my favourite plate was the sandwhich plate. That chicken filling was sooooo yummy! I didn't mind the middle plate either (the scones and pikelets), but after the last plate (the sweets) i think i had over-dosed a bit. Next time Bec, that top plate is all yours! lol
