at the Creative Edge Scrapbooking retreat in Adelaide this weekend. I've just arrived home and am off to get my kids, but just thought i'd share these pics quickly. I'll post more later (although i really don't have that many).
A couple of my classes....
The gorgeous and super talented Steph and Kate (it was soooooooooo good to catch up with you gals!)
Steph and i talking about furniture ;)
And for all those gals who got a pic of us together, don't forget to send me a copy! :)
Hope you lovely Adelaide gals all had as much fun as i did!
Z :)
What a blast!
I am home and exhausted from all that fun! The weekend was so much fun and it was great to catch up with so many friends. Loved meeting Elsie IRL, and Carrie Utley from Chatterbox (hope i spelled her name right). I was sharing a room with Kerrin which meant i had a seriously sleep deprived weekend, lol. We are just so bad together! We talk and talk and talk.....till we realize it's almost time to get up again! So many pics to share, but most of them are NOT that good. {note to self: need to learn how to photo shop photos!}
Heres a pic with me Kerrin, Jen, and Leanne from Scrapabout Australia.
Hers a pic of me Elsie and Kerrin at dinner. We had dinner at Lonestar on the Friday night. I had a ball, although the food (and the service) left alot to be desired. Suz's meal got lost....twice! By the way...how did i not get a pic with you Suz??? Can you believe i still don't have one of us? Or of me and Mishell! Cmon girls....next time, less laughing and more snapping, lol! Oh, Mishell...she had me in fits of laughter! At one point (out the front of krispy Kremes) i think we were just laughing at each other laughing at each other...LOL! (if that makes sense!) We actually worked out....sadly....how we could scrap the contents of our bathroom cupboards...and trust me, you don't want to know what we were coming up with!
Anyway WesThomsen (he's the guy who made the documentary on Scrapbooking), who I'd met a week earlier at the Arts Centre on the Gold Coast, was staying in the same hotel as us , so he and his gorgeous wife (she is so cute!) joined us for dinner. If you have not yet seen his movie, you must have a look....it is pretty good. And i LOVE his scrap - bag! Want to get me one of those! Also, my girlfriend Bec and her hubby George also came up for a day of scrapping fun...which was so cool! Loved getting to catch up with them at such a fun event! The dinner was so much fun. Really, i always forget that it is possible to laugh this much ! I am so lucky most of you guys DON'T live close by or I'd wither away from always having too much fun! LOL. {yes, i really just said that}
The classes were {also} so much fun! (can you tell i had FUN yet?)
I LOVE teaching! It is so inspiring to see what all theses amazing ladies come up with in every class! And i always have so much fun! So THANK YOU to all the gals who attended one of my workshops over the weekend! (oh...and to the Ruler girls...you know who you are... can you email me one of those pics please, full size?) I had a couple of newbies do my Stitching and Doodling class. It was there first ever layout...talk about jumping in head first! Here are some random pics from my classes.
See my youngest student....isn't she cute?
Heres Julia (For keeps), Carrie (Chatterbox) and Elsie (Ki), and me (just plain crazy)
So thats all I've got! But thanks to everyone who has emailed me to share pics of their completed projects or just random pics from the classes! I hope you all had as much fun as i did on the weekend!
Z :)
OK, this also has to be a somewhat quickish post....but i just thought I'd share some of the photos.
My weekend started of teaching at the Scrapabout Australia at Parramatta. I was a bit sleep deprived during the class, but it was so much fun to meet all those gorgeous creative women. Leanne, who owns the store , is just a gem, and i can't wait to find an excuse to be there again! And at the end of the class, Leanne gave me a PINK Fiskars cutter all for my very own! This was so exciting as all my cutters no longer work, and i am just NOT a stanley knife gal. And Jen, thank you sooooo much for my gorgeous pressie! i can't wait to get creative with it!
{Dont forget to send me picks of your finished layouts! Oh, and can you believe i forgot to get a photo of the class with my camera, so would somebody mind sending me one please? Thanks!}
The weekend was awesome, to say the least! Loved all the classes, so much so that i actually DID them! Yes, that may sound funny, but i normally don't actually do classes, because i like to do my work at home on my own. That way i can change it if i don't like something. This weekend wasn't so much about the classes, as it was about just getting away and having some fun , for me. But the classes were great! And i was so impressed with Ali, Donna and Cathy. I have to admit that i didn't think i was a huge fan of Donna's, although i do like her work....but now i LOVE her! She is so much fun! Her classes were amazing, easy to follow, and she has a great {cheeky} sense of humor. I wanted to keep her, but they said i wasn't allowed.
Nice pic of my butt there, huh? Thanks Lee!
Ali was so inspiring...and yes, i cried during her little presentation....who didn't???? I took Cathy's class thinking it would probably be a little boring listening to her talk for 2 hours without doing anything, but that i should do at least one of her classes....but boy was i wrong! She is a great speaker , and the two hours felt like only 1/2 an hour to me! She made me laugh, and she made me cry. She is such an amazing writer and speaker!
I met so many amazing people on the weekend! Soooooo many. Made lots of new friends, had lots of laughs....lots and lots and lots of laughs! Thank you to all the girls that i met and for making the weekend such an amazing experience!
Nic Wright , whom i also wanted to keep, but they wouldn't let me, and i had this "freestyle" joke going that i think went to far....but i didn't care, it was too funny! {don't worry, nobody was hurt...except maybe for my reputation, lol} { and NO, I'm not really that conceited, for anyone who didn't get the joke. I was just making fun of myself :P }
And sadly, there were also a few who didn't see the humor in my T-shirt that i wore on Saturday ...the "sorry, no photos" one. I found it at Cotton On the day before i left and thought it was hilarious! You know, no photos at a scrapbooking convention? Hee Hee? Well, i did get a few not too nice comments about that...but i don't think i was actually supposed to hear them. Not to worry though, i guess we all have a different sense of humor.
But speaking of T shirts...how cool were these ones!
But all in all, the weekend was amazing!!!!! There were some people there who i didn't get to catch up with as much as i would have liked to...Kim, Brooke, Cheryl, Mishell.... actually probably too many to list.
The only bad thing is that out of the 132 photos that i took, almost NONE worked out! The ones of Lee, Kylie, Nic, Roz Me and Ali....nope. The ones of Donna and our table as Charleighs Angels...nope. The ones of Sandra, deb and me with the cross-dressers in the bar ...nuh, uh, nope! What i have showed you is pretty much all i have! And i really want to do a layout on it. So if anyone has any photos , any at all, i would REALLLY appreciate it if you could send me some (full size, of course). I know Jen and Brooke got some that they said they'd send through...thanks gals!
It was good to be home at the end of the weekend. As soon as i saw my kids in the airport i started bawling...i missed them soooo much . How i will be away from them for 9 days in London is beyond me! I thought i could do it...but now I'm not so sure! We spent all of Monday just being lazy...i didn't even unpack! (left it all for today).
Yep, thats me and hubby being lazy. Mmmmmm...feels good!
Alright then, thats all for me! We are off to Movie World tomorrow with the kids, so that should be fun.
Z :)
PS OK, so much for the quick-ish post, lol!
Ok, where do i begin????? For anyone who may not already know, the Gold Coast Inspiration Scrapbooking Convention was this weekend just past. It was held at the Seaworld Nara Resort. This was my first time teaching at a convention and i had an absolute ball! We all got together for the Crop Night on Friday night where everyone gets to meet face to face and pour iover some absolutely delishoius albums! And speaking of Delish...Sally from Delish Designs was there with her beautiful mother and a gorgeous make and take pack for the night. Our crazy and fun-lovin Debbie and Amy were there with Max! HI MAX!
In fact, Max kept popping up all weekend!
And here she is again in my Doodling with Colour class...
And wait!.....is that Max in the rubbish bin?????
Yep, it was definitely great to meet Max again :)
Saturday was full-on packed with teaching, meeting so many people, and shopping! LOVE that mall.......
On Saturday night the gorgeous team fromPride Publishing , along with the sponsors and tutors all had a yummy dinner at the hotels restaurant, where i had my first ever taste of Bread-and-Butter pudding {white-choc and raspberry}...YUMMY! I also learned a few things that night, thanks to Deb, Kerrin, and Julia....Like what the word DAG really means! I can't believe i've been calling my kids that! LOL.anmd a few other funny bits....you australians have the weirdest sayings! I know i've been living here for many many years now, and am even married to an Aussie! But there are still so many things that just go way over my head! Thank goodness i was not the only one, cause Hope was there and she to knew about as little as me when it came to your strange Aussie sayings, lol.
It was great to catch up with Hope and Rach and the rest of the guys from Scrapbooks and More! Thanks so much to all the girls from there that did such a great job of helping out in my classes!
On Saturday i didn't think to get any pics of my classes :( but i did think about it on Sunday after my first class! So i have a pic of the girls that were still hanging around from the first class (sorry that i didn't get this pic before you all left!)
Then there were the girls from my Reality class on Sunday! You girls were all great...we were originally supposed to be doing 2 layouts for this class, but managed to do 3 (some did 4!) and have time to leave a little early and hit the shops before the rush!
Then there were the awards on Sunday afternoon...and oh my goodness the prizes were just gorgoues! There was one girl there who won an award for the best Bling (so sorry, i can't remeber your name! :( ), and she so deserved that award...her Bling was stunning! All weekend she had on something different, and such beautiful bling too. We got a pressie each (the tutors) which was totally unexpected and such a beautiful gesture. K hand picked each of us a beautiful set of plates...and i mean BEAUTIFUL! I'll have to post a pic of them later! It was sad that it all had to end so soon! But i had such an amazing time and it was so good to put names to the faces that i see/talk to over the net. I met so many people! It was especially good to catch up with Cheryl from Aussie Scrap Source
and Tamar and Suzan Doyle from Tarisota Collections ...yep, theres Tamar scrapping away at the crop! I was sure i got a pic with you gals, but can't find it! So if you got one can you send it to me?
Another highlight was definitely getting to meet the other tutors! I roomed with Katya { One of the Elite Team members for 2006} who is just the sweetest person, and i really hope we get to work together again soon. Then there was Lisa who i just didn't get to spend enough time with but is so much fun! Kerrin, who is just wonderful and SUCH an inspiration to work with! Thank you , thank you , thank you for all your hard work and for planning such a FANTASTIC and INSPIRATIONAL weekend!Alannah...so cool to meet you! Loved your English accents and your witty humor...you were so much fun to hang out with! And last but definitely not least the amazing Ngaire...Talented, beautiful, funny, ...,what more could you ask for all rolled into one delightful package! Thanks for our chats! We have to catch up again soon!
Heres some extra pics from the weekend! I have already started recieving some pics of your completed layouts for me to post in my Blog on the galleries, but still waiting for more! Hope that all of you who attended had as much fun as i had! Can't wait for Sydney! And for anyone who is wondering if they should go to the next one i would say DEFINITELY!!!!!! It is such an amazing experience. You learn so much, make new friendships, meet amazing people and just the fact that its a whole weekend just about scrapping, relaxing , socialising and having fun! What more could you want??? So absolutely...it's worth it and you should go to at least one this year!
