So this weekend will involve lots of cleaning, and looking for a new car. (With the addition of Jellybean here, we can't all fit in one car, so we have to take 2 cars everywhere!). But come visit again, because this weekend i will be some tutes for the kids, a Halloween cupcake recipe, and some freebie finds :)

And don't forget, i will be posting some Halloween goodies everyday next week!

embrace the camera

So i read about this 'embrace the camera' thursday on Emily's blog, and loved the idea! I have so many many photos of my kids, my partner, everyone eles...but not of me. If something ever happened to me, my kids would remember my face as a camera, i'm sure.

So i thought i'd give this a go. I do hate having my picture taken...but hey, i'm doing this for the kids, right?

Also, please note, that atm, i am without camera. Yes, you heard right. Have been for almost a year now. All my photos are cuurently taken with my iPhone, so please be understanding when they are blurry, cause it's definitely not the photographer... . ha.

So this morning jelly bean and i did a little picture taking on the bed for daddy. You see, every day i send daddy at least one picture of his little bean and what he did that day while dad was at work. Usually, i'm not in the picture. So this was todays picture for Daddy (may as well kill 2 birds with one stone, right?)

Mabey it's because i'm nursing a baby, but i cant stop thinking about food! I just keep finding more delicious Halloween goodies that i want to make (at this rate, i'll be cooking till Xmas!) So instead i'll share my yummy finds with you and mabey only attempt to make one or two, like this Ghastly Green Curry...

Terrifying Tutorials for Halloween

So originally i had this great idea of posting a tutorial every day, and doing it myself as well. I love halloween, as anyone who knows me well knows...and i love getting crafty. But with a new jellybean (bubba), 3 other very time-comsuming (and beautiful) children and trying to get this house on the market, i just dont seem to have any spare time!

Surprise, surprise. heh?

So anyway..looks like i'll just have to make do with posting super-cute tutorials of other amazing bloggers and crafters :)

An Enchanted fairy party...

When i was a little girl, this would have been the party to end all parties for me. I so wanted to be a fairy, was totally obsessed with fairies (still am, secretly). But this party , by the clever Amanda Parker is beyond even what i could have imagined as a child!

Creepy Cup Tutorial for kids

Halloween has always been my favourite holiday, but here in Australia, it doesn’t really get celebrated (unless you’re at my house! ;). Here's a fun tute for the little devils in your house, and it's easy, fun, and (relativley) low mess. You can do this for a Halloween party to serve your drinks in, or you can fill the cups up with candy as a unique little treat cup. You probably even have most of the materials in your house already!

So are you ready for some Creepy Crafting?

Materials:

Plastic cups (can be clear, or lightly coloured. Just as long as you can see you black drawn on face against the colour)

One small styrafoam ball per cup (for the eye balls)

A black permanent pen

A red permanent pen

A blue permanent pen

Strong craft glue

Get mum or dad to help you cut your styrafoam balls in half.

Once that is done, use your blue and red pen to draw on the eyeballs.

 

Glue the eyes onto your cup. You will have to do one eyeball at a time, holding it in place until the glue is somewhat dry (otherwise it will slide down your cup!).

Once your eyes have been glued into place and are dry, get your black pen and draw on your cups creepy face. Get creative and give each cup a different personality!

Once finished, fill your cups with slime, poison, witches brew, lizards toungues, candy....whatever you please! And watch as your guests timidly drink from thier creepy cups :)

Come join the Halloween Party!

So last year we had an amazing Halloween party. We completely transformed the house, inside and out. My mum dressed as a gypsy and set up one of the bedrooms as a spooky Gypsy den, where she had her crystal ball and spent the night telling fortunes. It was originally for the kids, but the adults loved it too, and were even lining up to get thier fortunes told! Everyone made an amazing effort with thier costumes...some of them were just hilarious! It was a really good night, filled with frights, friends, trick-or-treating for the kids and even some bad kareoke in the wee hours of the morning.

We'e still not sure how we will celebrate Halloween this year, but it will certainly be alot more low key than last year. It's killing me not being able to pull out all our decorations and go crazy! None the less, i will have to make do with simple celebrations and this:
