So every year the kids look forward to writing their notes to Santa asking listing thier 3 biggest desires. In our house santa brings 3 gifts per child, one of those gifts are always books. And they only get one gift each from me. I believe that when the kids get too much, they stop appreciating what they're getting. The years we have kept it the most simple have always been the best Christmas's for all of us.
I love reading the kids notes to Santa every year, it's one of my favourite parts of Xmas. I especially loved Tatiana putting in a good word for her friend!
And for some seriously good Christmas inspiration of the deep and meaningful kind... you really should check out Ashley's blog. This blog is one of my daily reads and a sweet-pot of ideas and inspiration. Ashley is not only super creative, talented, an amazing photographer...but she is also endlessly inspiring on so many other levels. I must admit, when i'm "reading" other peoples blogs, i often just quickly scan over them (taking in mostly the images), but Ashley's is one of the few blogs i actually take the time to read completely, every post. I have especially enjoyed her 'what i want to give' posts this week, and highly recommend you read them too!
Oh wow, how absolutely gorgeous are the letters! They will be fantastic to look back on in years to come :-) Thanks for all the wrapping ideas - I have done something similar to you. Used brown paper with ribbon that I had at home and made my own gift tags. Much nicer and more personal.
I was so thrilled to drop in here one day and find you posting again :-)

What special letters to Santa. Your children are very good writers.
I love all your gift wrapping ideas, thanks for sharing. Your gifts all look fabulous. I too am trying to save money and have been making my own handmade cards and gift tags this year which has been a lot of fun.
Wishing you all a very Happy, Safe and Fun Christmas and all the best for 2011 as well xxoo
