So this morning Tati and i woke up early to do some garage sale shopping before dance class. First stop Mc D's (yuck) for a really bad coffee (next time we go somewhere better) hot choc with pancakes and to read the paper and scout out the sales.
We drank our drinks and wrote a list and off we went. We had about 6 sales to hit. 3 of them were duds... i mean really! One had about 6 items to sell and it was pretty average stuff. Why bother getting out of bed to sell that? Just chuck it in a bag and donate it, really. One garage sale was either cancelled or the guys slept in :( One was a young mother selling all her pre-baby clothes/bags/shoes. But her stuff was pricey. One dress was $50 and it was nothing spec. Cmon....its a garage sale... $50??? I dont think so. I did however buy a cute fringed bag for $10. Too much i though, but i wanted it and she wouldnt budge on price. The last one we hit was awesome. Unfortunatley, we were too late. There was a pile of great stuff that had already been sold. The lady said they had heaps of retro stuff that went early this morning :( Bummer! This is what we did score though....
And an old projector screen. I have a great idea of what i want to use that for! But you'll just have to wait and see ;)
Anyway... i did a bit of a home DIY last weekend (when i say 'i' i mean the Mr. ;)
My step mother found these old crates for me (she knows my love of old stuff, junk as my father calls it, and is always finding me these absolite gems!) and i had this idea to turn them into side tables. I didnt like the red writing on the sides though, so we painted over that. The Mr. added some castors wheels to the sides (which became the bottom of our side tables) and easy-peasy-one-two-threesy! We have side tables :)
Well, there not really all done. I still need to get glass cut for the tops, but being the impatient person i am, we are using them anyway...incomplete and all.
I've actually been busy busy doing lots of projects this week, so hopefully i'll have some more diy's to post soon(ish). It's a gorgeous day today... looks like it'll be a gorgeous weekend. off to get our fitting for our shower curtain today....finally! Looks like we'll soon be able to use our shower :) (we've been all using the small old shower upsatirs in our ensuite ), then on Sunday were off to Swell. Hope you have a good weekend :)
