Swell was on again, one of my fave times of the year. For anyone who hasn't heard of Swell before, it's a 2 week event for sculptors held along Currumbin Beach. They put up gorgeous works of art and sculptures all along the beach, both along the walkway and on the actual beach itself! So you can walk from one end of the beach to the other and look at all these amazing works of art. The kids love it, as there are alwaysactivities for the kids, and some of the sculptures are interactive (like this one that you could draw on...
This was pretty cool. It was a series of 3 'sculptures'. One you could hear the wind with, one you could hear the ocean with, and one you could hear the ground with (sounded like you were hearing from under the ground)....all in stereo effect. Pretty cool.
Or this one that you could play on....
It's mostly just a nice relaxing way to spend the day together. Heres some of the other sculptures we saw.
And this is Entoni's sculpture, made from his Pokemon doll. My fave sculpture of the day!
Oh I love Swell! We stay in Currumbin on holidays nearly every year when we visit family and are often there while it is on. I think we would walk along and look at it nearly every day :)
