I think thats from one of my fave songs by Vampire Weekend. But i could be wrong. I'm one of those annoying people who always gets the words to songs wrong. In my head i make up my own words (i think they're thre right words, mind you) and i sing the song all wrong. Drives everyone i know crazy. But me.
Anywhoo....
so this saturday was just soooo filled with family fun, it was awesome. I love it when we can cram heaps of fun itno a day together. So often we're just struggling to have family time fit in with soccer, dance, appointments, so much business. Ahhh, such is the joy of holidays. No soccer, no dance, nothing but fun.
Tati and i woke early again to hit the local garage sales. Our first stop found us a really cool floor lamp with no shade (but luckily i have a spare shade at home with no base! awesome :) After that though, we really didn't find much until our last stop, where we scored this gorgeous hand carved desk (wich will go up in my room)...
(need to be cleaned up)
and this old school desk (which will go in the boys room)....
We got them both for a steal, so was super excited about that!
While we were garage sale shopping the boys rode down to Pirate Park for a play.
Afterwards we all met up at the Farmers Markets to get some fruit and veg and coffee :) They've got this great sitting area with live music and a big blanket laid out with toys for the littleies to play with. The food their is so yummy, i always spend to much! If you ever go, you MUST try these:
- the chili salmon from the salmon guy
- the Kettle Corn sweet and salty popcorn
- a felafel pocket from Orgasmic Felafels (i think thats thier name)
- Black Cheddar from the little deli (not sure what it's called)... NOT 'the cheese guy'. Although, i've never bought from him, so his stuff could be awesome!
YUM
Afterwards we went home and had a fun little Crafternoon, where we made rockets and rainbows (well, the boys didn't want to make rainbows....go figure! So they made jellyfish instead).
While the big kids were busy with that i made some photo booth props for a friend, and TJ painted...
Then we had some food and some rest time. I make the kids have at least 30min of rest time everday over the holidays. They are confined to thier room, and they can either read or sleep. Thats it. They are well fed and hydrated before rest time starts, so there is no snacks during rest time. In otherwords, no exciuse to come out and pester me for that half hour. Sounds mean? Mabey. I dont think so though. Really, they need it. It's good for them!
Mostly, it's good for me. I do it for my own sanity....
Afterwards, the kids had fun jumping on the trampoling. All 5 of them.
Five? Wait a minute....i don't have 5 kids! Or do i......
This little guy LOVES the trampoline. It's sooooo cute watching him play with his big bro's/sis on there...he gets so excited. But today he decided to chill out a bit and just watch the others jump. Aparrently, this is just as much fun as jumping...
I used to love jumping on the trampoline too! But four babies put an end to that. Now my bladder says NOOOOO to jumping on the trampoline. Just watching them jump like that made me want to run to the tiolet every 10 seconds!
sigh
Anyway....fun was had on this glorious saturday.
And now were all tuckered out...
